  • Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton get into it on 'The Voice': 'Let's see what fighting looks like in our marriage!'

Voice fans love when Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani have some playful fighting and banter. And on Monday, the married duo were getting into it. "I'm a little bit nervous now because I don't think my wife is gonna roll over on this one, but I'm gonna fight," said Blake to 17-year-old contestant Daysia, who put a jazz spin on the Patsy Cline country classic "Crazy." "Let's see what fighting feels like in our marriage," said Gwen. However, it was clear Daysia was a Stefani stan. So, despite her country song choice, Daysia chose Team Gwen. But the battle wasn't over. Later in the night, another talented teen girl, 15-year-old Ansley Burns, who had "deep country roots," had Blake using his one and only block button on his own wife. "I had to use my block button on my own wife. But that's how badly I wanted Ansley on my team," explained Blake. And so, by default, Blake won the second round of the night against Gwen, who said, in conclusion, "It took using Blake's block to take me down, so, obviously, I'm a threat. I got blocked twice."

  • Blake Shelton welcomes Camila Cabello to 'The Voice' by muting her microphone

Season 22 of The Voice got off to a quiet start Monday thanks to Blake Shelton welcoming new coach Camila Cabello with a new mute button. While Camila is new to the show, she still has a lot of experience. She was an advisor for Team John Legend last season, and got her start as part of the group Fifth Harmony on The X-Factor, so she wasn't gonna let Blake's shenanigans get to her. After Blake muted her mic, Camila tried yelling to the contestant, Kate Kalvach, then borrowed the Kalvacht's mic, which Blake also muted. Camila's "bestie" John Legend tried helping her out by letting her talk into his mic, but wouldn't you know it, Blake's mute button seemingly can mute any mic in the studio. Camila eventually prevailed and finished her plea to Kalvach. Ultimately, Blake's little tricks may have backfired. The episode ended on a cliffhanger, so we don't know who Kalvach picked as her coach, but while Blake was focused on shenanigans like struggling to bring out a goat, Kalvach was focused on Blake's lack of focus on her. "Blake was my first choice, but he didn't even fight for me," Kalvach said. So we'll find out Tuesday if Blake gets muted by Kalvach.

  • 'Voice' coaches joke that contestant is 'rude' and 'insulting' following final performance

During part one of The Voice finale Monday night, the remaining five artists each performed twice, as they gave their final performances before the winner is announced during Tuesday's Season 21 two-hour finale. During the final performance of the night, Team Blake Shelton's Wendy Moten, who has continued to slay even after her shocking face-plant onstage, which left both of her arms in casts, closed out the show on a high note, which had John Legend stating, "Wendy, I just don't think I've ever seen anyone with a gift like you have. Your voice is just so flawless and perfect, and then you just stand there and do it with such nonchalance. It's insulting to every other singer that works so hard." "It's rude," Kelly Clarkson jokingly interjected. "We just watch you do it, and it just looks so easy coming out of you. It's just stunning that you're able to do what you're able to do. What a gift you are," added Legend. Telling Moten her vocal skills are "insulting" and "rude" were obviously jokes. Pretty much everyone, including viewers on social media, agreed that Wendy was, and is, insanely good. Even her coach, who implied that Moten might be one of the greatest contestants of all time. "America, I mean, John's right," shared Shelton. "We've never seen anything like you on this stage in 21 seasons and, ladies and gentlemen, this is, when I say world class talent, I'm talking about… this may never happen again. Wendy, thank you so much for being on The Voice."

  • Ariana Grande officially loses 'The Voice' ahead of next week's season finale

On Tuesday, The Voice revealed its top five artists moving on to next week's Season 21 finale and, unfortunately for first-time coach Ariana Grande, the pop singer will be sitting out of the rest of the competition after her last remaining artists, father-son duo Jim and Sasha Allen, were eliminated. The first four finalists announced by Carson Daly on Tuesday’s live results episode all represented the current panel’s longest-running and most popular coaches: Blake Shelton’s soul powerhouses Wendy Moten and Paris Winningham, and Kelly Clarkson’s family folk band Girl Named Tom (the first trio to ever make it to a Voice finale) and teen pop prodigy Hailey Mia. While it seemed like John Legend was close to also not being represented in the finale, in the end, Jershika Maple won America's live instant save. Ariana cried while saying goodbye to Jim and Sasha, as she shared, "Firstly, absolutely no one is saying bye to anyone tonight, that's all I'm saying. Secondly, Tuesdays are the worst days ever. And thirdly, I think the best gift of this whole thing has been meeting you. Thank you. I love you. It's been an honor."

  • Watch out Gwen Stefani, Blake Shelton tells 'Voice' contestant: 'You made me feel something'

During The Voice's live semi finals Monday night, the top eight artists each took the stage. However, it was the penultimate performance of the night, Team Blake's Jacksonville soul singer Paris Winningham, who sang "Close the Door" by Teddy Pendergrass, which had Blake Shelton feeling things. "You did exactly what you needed to do, man," Blake told Paris. "That fun side of your personality. You're so laid back and then so aggressive out of nowhere. Literally, I mean, I don't know about y'all but, I mean, I'm married to Gwen Stefani, but you made me feel something." "My heart was pounding, okay Paris? I said it. My heart was pounding for Paris. I just said it," added Blake, as Ariana Grande exclaimed, "What is going on?" Kelly Clarkson also enjoyed Paris's performance as she shared, "That was so good. He said close the door. Oh my gosh, I love that song. I didn't know that song. I've never heard that song before. What a way to stick in your wheelhouse to get to the finale, man. Your voice is so beautiful and raw and just perfect. That was such a perfect performance, man. I loved it." However, viewers were just enjoying Blake "feeling something" for him, as they took to Twitter sharing that they ship Blake and Paris. One fan even called it their "favorite moment in Voice history now." No word on what Blake's wife Gwen Stefani has to say on the matter, but the couple have only been married since July, so something tells us they're just fine.

  • Blake Shelton's 'Voice' artist performs with both arms in casts after taking a fall during live show

It was "Challenge Week" on The Voice Monday, which meant the top 10 artists were tasked with singing a song from a different genre than their own. However, for Team Blake Shelton's powerhouse singer Wendy Moten, she was challenged with more than just singing a country song. During last week's live results show, Moten scared everyone when she took an unexpected fall and face-planted on stage. While she later came back to tell host Carson Daly she was just a little bruised, on Monday, we found out it was a little more serious than that. "My right elbow is broken. My left hand is fractured at my wrist. So I fell down pretty hard," Moten shared with Shelton, who replied, "Even though your arm is in a cast, I'm so happy that you are okay." Even though Moten had casts on both of her arms, it didn't stop her from slaying her performance of Dolly Parton's "Jolene." Fellow Voice coach John Legend shared, "I was just transfixed. It was, like, religious for me," while Kelly Clarkson stated, "I mean, first of all, I know what your week has been like because I asked. I mean, kudos for you for even being on the stage right now and getting this done. You know what it costs, and you know what you want, and it's worth it. And also to come out here as if nothing happened to you, and you're perfectly fine, and to tell a story like that in such a sorrowful way. It was so beautifully sad. Which is, like, my favorite kind of music. Well done. " As for Moten's coach, Shelton shared, "By the way, America, I've never seen a better example of strength and perseverance and fearlessness standing on this stage. Not losing focus of what she came here to do, which is to win this thing. We got to go to the finale, Wendy. Come on."

  • Blake Shelton boldly shows favoritism for veteran backup singer on ‘The Voice’

The Voice went live for the first time this season with Monday’s top 20 playoffs. And after 19 strong performances that garnered pretty much all positive comments from the judges, veteran backup singer Wendy Moten closed the night out with a rendition of “I Will Always Love You.” And that’s when Blake Shelton made a bold statement. “I'll probably catch a lot of heat for it, but I don't care,” Shelton said. “I've been doing this show for 21 seasons now as a coach. there is nobody I want this more for, ever, than you.” The 56-year-old Moten has worked with artists like Carrie Underwood and Eric Clapton, and also had a solo hit with 1992’s “Come Out In the Rain.” But Shelton believes that now is truly her time. “You deserve this,” Shelton said while applauding. You deserve this.” Viewers at home seemed to agree with Shelton, as many took to Twitter with comments calling for her to win it all, and even for her to get her own recording contract. And while all the high praise is a good sign, the top 20 will be trimmed to 13 on Tuesday’s show, and with enough votes she’ll be hoping to end the week on a high note.

  • Blake Shelton surprisingly plays favorites on 'The Voice' playoffs: 'I'll probably catch a lot of heat for it, but I don't care'

Blake made a bold statement about his clear favorite, veteran pro background vocalist Wendy Moten — seemingly not caring if he alienated his other team members or even the viewers at home.

  • Blake Shelton's soul-crushing 'Voice' decision: 'My heart's broken right now'

Hard to tell whether or not singing one of her coach Blake Shelton's songs was the right decision, but during the first night of The Voice Knockouts Monday, 15-year-old female football player Hailey Green, who managed to outshine her competition during the Battle Rounds, sang Shelton's hit "God's Country" and brought the house down. Unfortunately for Hailey, her competitor Libianca performed Billie Eilish's "Everything I Wanted" and hit one note at the end that kinda sealed the deal. "Hailey, that was brave of you to sing the one and only Blake Shelton's song right in front of him. The voice that you have, it's just so strong and so powerful. Libianca, I love how you switched up the melody. I love that you saved that very high note for the end. I would have to give this one to Libianca," admitted Ariana Grande. John Legend shared, "Hailey, your voice is just powerful and just filled up this room with energy, and I was like, 'How is Libianca gonna follow that?' And then it was a master class in vocals." While Ariana and John voted for Libianca, Kelly Clarkson stated, "Hailey, you are like a baby Janis Joplin. I haven't really heard a female in that lane since Gretchen Wilson. And then Libianca had so much cool texture and vibe. I think the only reason why I'm leaning a little bit more towards Hailey is I don't think anyone on the show is doing that." Meanwhile, the ladies' coach, Blake, told Hailey, "I've literally lost years off my life trying to get through that vocal, and listening to you sing that, holy crap." As for Libianca, Blake thought she deserved credit because she had "a hard time getting through the song in rehearsals," but pulled it together when she took the Knockouts stage and was "incredible."  In the end, the cowboy chose the latter, but said that the decision was "soul-crushing." "My heart's broken right now. It wouldn't have mattered who I chose, but there was no way in hell I was gonna let Libianca leave. I feel like she had the tallest mountain to climb, and she was able to get it together. As a coach, there's no way I can't reward that," shared Blake.

  • Kelly Clarkson's incredibly tough 'Voice' decision has Blake Shelton telling her to 'quit'

During the last day of the battle rounds on The Voice Tuesday, Kelly Clarkson was faced with a very tough decision – keep her pop-gospel teen duo, the Cunningham sisters, or 30-year-old Parker McKay, the contestant with a heartbreaking backstory. While both the Cunningham sisters and Parker slayed their haunting rendition of Lesley Gore's "It's My Party," Blake Shelton knew exactly what Kelly should do. "I thought you sounded incredible," Blake told Parker. "But you were up against The Cunningham Sisters." Blake then turned to Kelly and said, "Do you want my advice? Quit." Blake telling Kelly to quit was obviously a joke. In fact, earlier in the show, Ariana Grande also joked about quitting when she herself had a hard decision. Fortunately, neither coach quit and, in the end, Kelly shared, "Man. I'm so bummed right now," said Kelly. "I just can't fight the, like, what is gonna happen, in my heart, so I have to pick," before declaring the teenage Cunningham sisters as the winners to move on to the Knockout rounds. " I think the thing that really steals me about The Cunningham Sisters is just to have that kind of confidence and precision at such a young age. Like, imagine this whole journey. I think anything I kind of throw at them, like, a challenge, they like it and they kind of grow in that arena, so I'm very excited about it," said Kelly.

"My advice to you? Quit," Blake flat-out told Kelly, as she faced a tough decision during Season 21's final Battle Rounds.

  • Kelly Clarkson calls 'Voice' contestant a 'country Patrick Swayze'

It was the third night of the Battle Rounds on The Voice Monday, and one battle had everyone seeing icons. Blake Shelton's team members, Carson Peters and Clint Sherman, battled it out to Vince Gill's "Don't Let Our Love Start Slippin' Away," and Kelly Clarkson thought Carson should be singing in Road House. Kelly said, "Carson, I was like, 'Oh, my God.' Seventeen years old looking like a country Patrick Swayze. I'm like, 'What?'" The former American Idol winner wasn't the only one impressed with Carson. Blake's team advisor, Dierks Bentley, saw another legend in Carson. "Carson could be a big superstar. His voice has got the bluegrass stuff and the country stuff. But it has almost like an Elvis kind of harder-edge tone happening," Dierks said. In the end, Blake chose Carson as the winner of the battle, and is excited to see what the 17-year-old has in store. "I just feel like Carson had the edge. He's just got a few different gears he can go to as a vocalist. Carson's only 17 years old, and as a coach, that's very exciting. Also, we haven't yet heard him play fiddle. I can't wait for that."

  • 15-year-old female football player unexpectedly outshines her competition on 'The Voice'

Everyone loves a good underdog story. Well, on The Voice Tuesday night, Season 21's underdog may have emerged – 15-year-old rocker chick Hailey Green, who first auditioned for The Voice during Season 19. Green, who, back home, is the only female on her high school football team, definitely has a fighting competitive spirit. So, even though it seemed like the odds were stacked against her when she went up against 28-year-old vintage country singer Lana Scott on a Maren Morris song, she still gave it her all and completely blew the coaches away. John Legend shared, "Hailey, your power, your tone, it just grabs you. Just to see you putting everything into every single note, it felt so good." "Hailey, you were a cheetah and someone was, like, just taming you or, like, trying to hold you back. I'm so interested in what the cheetah has to offer," said Kelly Clarkson, while new coach Ariana Grande thought Hailey's voice was "so colorful and raw and rock 'n' roll." However, ultimately, it all came down to Hailey and Lana's coach Blake Shelton, who shared, "Hailey literally plays outside linebacker for her high school football team. Now you know why she sings like that. You can't hold back the cheetah. You can't hold her back. And believe it or not, that was actually Hailey dialed back." Meanwhile, viewers on Twitter couldn't deny the fact that Hailey is a star. One person pointed out how the song was more in Lana's wheelhouse, but "Lana rode the melody well and brought a certain comfort that Hailey shredded." (@SoUWanaBaSinger) In the end, Blake chose the underdog, Hailey, as he stated, "The thing that intrigues me about Hailey is that she's so young and her voice is so powerful. From a coaching standpoint, she has all the elements. She just needs to know how to approach an actual performance and have some dynamics. I'm looking forward to working on those things."

  • 'Voice' contestant's shocking decision has fans on Twitter legitimately upset

During the blind auditions on The Voice Monday night, 20-year-old contestant Libianca, from Cameroon, West Africa, had Ariana Grande completely lit up over her cover of SZA's "Good Days." "Libianca, I'm obsessed with you. I respect you so much for picking a SZA song because she writes in a way that's so unique to her. It's like a huge undertaking to sing a SZA song, and you did such a beautiful job of making it your own. I was so excited," said Ariana. In fact, Ariana was so obsessed that she lowkey started word-vomiting during her campaign to be her coach. Almost without a breath, Ariana shared, "I'm freaking out. I really hope you pick me. You're so good. You're so beautiful. I'm obsessed. You sound divine. You look amazing. Um, and yeah, okay. So anyway, nice to meet you. Thank you for your time. What a pleasure to hear you. Um, okay. Blake?" While Team Ariana seemed like an obvious fit, it was surprising that the only other coach who turned was the resident cowboy, Blake Shelton, who told Libianca he was "obviously the coach" for her. After Libianca hilariously asked, "Why," Blake explained, "Yeah, I'm the country guy. But you know what? I've won this show with all different kinds of artists, and the coach and artist relationship is about whatever I can do that can help you be the best at whatever you want to be. That's my job." Apparently, Blake had just the words Libianca was looking for. "Somebody said something that gave me a sign because I asked God to give me a sign," explained Libianca. "And somebody said something that gave me that sign. So, Blake, I'm gonna go with you." Everyone was shocked she chose Team Blake. On social media, fans were totally baffled and legit upset at her for not choosing Ariana. Even fellow coach Kelly Clarkson couldn't believe what had just happened, as she exclaimed, "What? Libianca picked Blake Shelton over Ariana Grande. No one saw that coming!"

  • Make-A-Wish contestant with 'sudden death disease' auditions for 'The Voice'

His screen time during The Voice blind auditions Tuesday night may have been short, but 19-year-old contestant Berritt Haynes still made a lasting impression. Following his audition Tuesday, Haynes revealed that, last year, he was offered a Make-A-Wish to attend a live Voice taping. However, due to the fact that there was no live audience because of COVID, his wish could not be granted. Fortunately, his mother sent in a video of him singing to audition for The Voice and, instead of sitting in the audience, he ended up on the actual stage. When Haynes was eight years old, he was diagnosed with a heart disease called "hypertrophic cardiomyopathy," often called "the sudden death disease." When he was 14 years old, he had an internal defibrillator placed. However, during Tuesday's episode, Haynes was just grateful to be alive and well… and on Team Blake Shelton, who tweeted live during the episode, saying: "To say it’s an honor to have you on Team Blake would be the understatement of the century! Damn proud of you Berritt!"
